Today I reencountered an old friend. Who am I kidding, I don’t like people. Let me rephrase that. Today I found an old video that excites me and fires something up inside me. It ignites that creative drive that, I believe, we all have. Even after seeing it so many years ago. Today I relived the greatness of Ken Block.
I had seen that the Gymkhana files are now available to watch on Amazon prime, but had not pressed play yet. Today I did. The first episode takes you behind the scenes of the famous Climbkhana stunt/film. If you are not familiar with the Gymkhana series, this is a series of short films that the Hoonigan team, led by Ken Block, put together. These are automotive related stunts that Ken Block would preform over the years.
A brief glimpse of the behind the scenes is all I needed. After finishing the first episode, I had to go back to YouTube and find the original video. The perfect one-two combo. The dedication to the craft is admirable and contagious. Again, we see proof that practice and dedication to your craft, brings you success.
There is no doubt in my mind that Ken Block’s legacy will be unforgettable in the automotive world. I am so thankful that all this material was saved and released to the world. There are 8 episodes on this limited series. I am not done with “The Gymkhana files” on Prime, but I needed to share it with the world. It has been a while since I posted one of these.
