Quick read: Goodyear Sustainable Soybean Tires.

Kicking off a new section on the site. It will be focused on promoting quick and interesting reads found and shared in the web. Besides promoting video content, written media cannot, and should not be left behind.

I would like to start the Quick Reads section with some exciting news from the automotive world. Tires, not only help efficiency in a vehicle but also, to an extent, determine handling. Also, a major polluting component in vehicles besides emissions. But that’s a topic for another time.

First offered to the public in 2017, Goodyear developed tires made out of Soybean oil. They state that the tires are more flexible and offer better grip in the rain and snow. According to Goodyear, oil in tires is about 8% by weight, and they have been able to replace 60% of that oil by Soybean oil.

The novelty about these tires now, is the usage of more sustainable materials, rather than just Soybean oil. You can find more information from around the web in the articles cited below.
