AMMO Frothe and Griot’s Garage Pump-Up Foamer

Hey boys and girls,

I bring to you another review. This time is the AMMO NYC Frothe and Griot’s Garage Pump-Up Foamer.

This is just a quick review for those interested in the different options to clean their cars. I am not planning on spending a lot of time on this review, since Larry from AMMO has a great video explaining the whole process. You can watch the video down below.

For the record, I have not Larry’s foamer, since I previously had the Griot’s garage. And from what I understand, it is pretty close in design, if not the same, except for the reservoir being smaller on the Griot’s version.

Why I bought it?

As mentioned in one of the previous posts, moving to an apartment has made me look for different alternatives to wash cars, ways that are efficient and effective with the limited resources I have available.

If you are familiar with apartment living, you may have run into a couple of these situations, not having access to a hose, having limited space for your vehicles, etc.

In my case, there is enough space for washing a car in ONE of our two spots. The main problem is, there is no water access for car washing.  This is why Frothe is one of the few options that can work for this particular situation.

How does it work?

Frothe is a really concentrated formula that, with the help of a foam gun, can help you wash your car without much water.

The instructions call for 20oz of water per 2 oz of Frothe, which if you look at these quantities with a measuring cup, it is pretty good ratio. I doubled the mixture, which made it 40oz of water per 4oz of Frothe. The mixture helped me wash two cars, one 7 seater SUV and a regular size car. Both black, for what that’s worth.

The Pump-Up foamer is basically a foam gun that does not use an outside source of pressure, such as a pressure washer, but only the pumps you give it with your hand. The foamer is also pretty straight forward. You pour both of your fluids in the reservoir bottle, pump until you hear a little pressure come out and you are ready to go. It can’t be simpler than that. One advantage that it is worth noting from these foamers, Larry’s and Griot’s, is that both have an adjustable nozzle. This nozzle let’s you spray in a vertical line, or a horizontal line, whatever your preference is.

What are the pros and cons?

The Pros of this method is that it is way faster than anything else I have tried. You spray the foam, wipe it clean with a microfiber towel and you are basically done. It is extremely convenient and does not use as many tools as with other methods.

The Cons. The downside of this method and it might be due to my lack of expertise with the products, is that I had to do a couple of passes with a waterless wash to get rid of some streaks I left. The other downside is that, compared to rinseless washes, you don’t have a product combined with wax, which makes you wax the car after using it, as far as I know. I need to as a Larry about this, really great guy by the way.

Final thoughts…

To conclude, first, I would like to congratulate Larry from AMMO NYC for coming up with a product like this, very innovative and unique. Second, I would like to recommend it. The levels of concentration make it such a good buy. I will, very likely be switching back and forth between this and the Griot’s rinseless wash, depending on the amount of time I have to clean the cars.

I hope you enjoyed this review and thank you for reading.
